CITRUS

Sometimes the best inspiration for a shoot is what is in season.  I often will find stuff at the farmers market or store that looks amazing and is perfectly in season.  Winter happens to be the perfect season for citrus fruits and pomegranates.

I showed up at Plamen’s studio with a ton of beautiful fruit and the idea that it would be interesting to look at it on a cellular level.  Like a sample for a microscope slide, we broke down the fruit and looked at it from its beautiful skin and shape, down to its cellular core.  We tried to expose and document each important part that makes up its whole.
